How To Distress Cabinets

If you feel like sanding hard enough to reveal the wood base is too much work you can also distress black cabinets by using glazes stains paint.

Wait about 1 2 hours until the paint is dry before touching it. Bust out the antiquing glaze. Repeat this same method of distressing around areas that would see the most use like the edges opposite of the hinges.

Put on a pair of rubber gloves and wipe cabinet faces with a damp rag to remove the surface dirt. Because the base color is very dark you would need to use a more opaque glaze hence why some people prefer using thinned paint as it carries more pigments that would show against the black cabinet surface.
