Kitchen Cabinet Hardware Placement

If you decide to use pulls here instead of knobs you ll want to place the pull handles vertically.
Kitchen cabinet hardware placement. On lower cabinets place knob holes 2 1 2 down from the top of the door. On lower cabinets the top screw hole should be placed 2 5 3 below the top of the door. On upper cabinets the bottom screw hole should be placed 2 5 3 above the bottom of the door.
This placement is also the most practical putting the handles as much within reach as possible. Most cabinet knobs today are installed by lining up the installation hole with the edge of the rail. A classic approach to take is to center the middle of the knob to the edge of the face frame.
For a more current modern feel place the knobs so the bottom of the knob in upper cabinetry and the top of the knob in base cabinetry is flush with the edge of the frame. When it comes to installing cabinet door handles either knobs or pulls they are always placed on the opposite side from the door hinges. When working with shaker style cabinets place knobs 2 1 2 inches away from the edge of the frame view example below.
Cabinet knobs are placed opposite of door hinges. Upper cabinet knobs are placed on the bottom right hand corner of the face frame and for base cabinets knobs are located on the top left hand corner. On wall cabinets knobs are usually placed 2 1 2 to 3 from the bottom corner of the door.
Placed in the lower corner if placing knobs and pulls in the lower corner this is usually around 1 from the edge. The knob or pull can align with the rail or it could be higher or lower there are no rules. On drawers and pull out cabinets knobs are typically centered on the drawer front.
